Port delays affecting meat imports

JOHANNESBURG- The Association of Meat Importers and Exporters is warning that port delays are affecting meat imports. 
It’s calling for urgent government intervention, especially as the festive season approaches.

The organisation says the issuance of meat import removal permits used to take 48 hours, but now takes 8 to 9 days.
